Sandman Law Office, PLLC intern, Will Sandman, was recently recognized alongside his teammates as a Moot Court World Champion. Sandman was a coach on the Penn State Law Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team that claimed the top spot in Vienna, Austria. The Vis Moot is widely recognized as the Olympics of private law. The team from Penn State Law competed against a record breaking 372 teams from 87 countries. This is an incredible achievement as it is the first time in 15 years that a team from the United States took home first place. Penn State Law beat out teams from schools such as Harvard, Yale, Cambridge, and perennial powerhouse University of Ottawa.
After winning the competition Sandman published an article with his co-coach about the experience on Kluwer Arbitration, one of the most prominent websites for International Arbitration. Penn State University also published an article on their website about this historic victory.
